Autumn Term 2020 Events
Our School Games calendar for 2020/21 has been adapted due to Covid-19 and a virtual approach has been adopted. Our virtual challenges can be completed both at school and at home and require minimal equipment, or if equipment is required it can be substituted for other household items. Our new Playwaze system has allowed for virtual competition to be accessed anywhere and everywhere, and for our 'at home' offer to be developed. See here for Playwaze.
This Autumn Term, there are four different challenges. Most of which are open for the duration of the term as we appreciate that it may be difficult to fit into the school calendar over specific days and weeks.
FRIENDSHIP RUN CHALLENGE - 19th to 23rd October 2020 (NOW FINISHED)
As the usual Cross Country competitions were not able to take place, the Friendship Run proved to be a great success with more than 5,500 students across the county taking part. Many also completed the 1-mile challenge (see results for this here). Some schools had all their students participating, some schools has specific year groups and a few even completed this at home! The county winner in each category received a medal from our School Games partners, Decathlon Cambridge!
Each School which took part in the Friendship Run has been put into a draw to win a 60-min virtual Q&A session with Paralympian Sam Ruddock! This will be drawn on Friday 8th January 2021.
